Yves Saint Laurnet was founded in 1963. In the 60s and 70s, YSL set the trend for style and fashion. The brand’s safari jackets had a serious impact on the industry. It was also one of the first brands to launch thigh-high boots. The design concept went on to be adopted by many other fashion houses and remains popular today.
No brand, not even YSL, is complete without a fragrance or two. The first perfume launched by YSL was simply called Y. That was back in 1964. In many ways, it was the forebearer to many other of the brand’s perfumes and colognes. It was dark, slightly heavy and rich. Today, Yves Saint Laurent has one of the most extensive fragrance ranges of all of the French luxury brands.
