Paco Rabanne Perfumes and Fragrances

Paco Rabanne began his career as a jewellery designer. Up until the middle 1960s, he worked for brands such as Dior, Givenchy and Balenciaga. In 1966, he decided to launch his own collection. The collection was called the Unwearables and was rather avant-garde compared to other fashion house range at the time. It even featured the world’s first plastic dress.

This unique collection got Paco Rabanne noticed and he was encouraged to set up his fashion atelier. In 1968 Paco Rabanne began collaborating with leading perfume house Puig. Soon after, the first Paco Rabanne scent was launched. It was called Calandre and become one of the company’s best-selling lines. Paco Rabanne realised that the perfume industry had huge potential. In 1976 the brand built its own perfume factory in Chatres France. It is now one of the leading fragrance manufacturers in the world.
